What Ofsted said about our school
The quotations below are taken directly from the published inspection report.
What it is like to attend our school
Pupils enjoy coming to school. They are happy and safe here. Relationships between staff and pupils are positive and based on mutual respect. Staff have high expectations for all pupils' achievement, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
Behaviour and attitudes
Behaviour in lessons and around the school is calm and orderly. All staff have consistently high expectations of pupils' behaviour at all times. Pupils treat each other and adults with respect.
Personal development (Outstanding)
Through the curriculum and extra-curricular activities, the trust and school leaders have made sure that all pupils access a broad range of experiences. There is a strong sense of community feel. Every year group chooses a charity to raise money for.
Quality of education
School leaders work closely with trust leaders to improve the quality of education. They make sure that the curriculum is broad, balanced and ambitious for all pupils, including all pupils with SEND. The curriculum is well sequenced so that pupils secure the knowledge they need before progressing to more complex ideas.
Reading and phonics
The school has invested time and money in embedding a new phonics programme… Staff promote the love of reading every day. Any pupils who fall behind with their reading rapidly catch up with their peers.
Children with SEND
Leaders manage support for pupils with SEND well. Effective systems are in place for identifying pupils' needs, staff training, assessment and reviewing pupils' progress. Staff are well supported to understand individual pupils' needs.
Early years
Children have high-quality interactions with adults. They transition seamlessly into Year 1.
Our staff and team
Staff are proud to work here. They said that their well-being is always considered. Trust and school leaders make sure that they make appropriate adaptations to reduce staff workload.
What we are continuing to work on
Ofsted recognised two areas where we are continuing to develop our practice:
- Ensuring all teaching staff implement our curriculum with consistent precision across every subject, so pupils build depth of knowledge.
- Making sure teachers consistently identify and address pupils' misconceptions in the moment, so misunderstandings do not persist.
Since the inspection, our leadership team has continued to focus on these areas through ongoing staff training, coaching and curriculum review. We are proud of the progress our staff and pupils have made.

About school inspections
Ofsted normally inspects schools every four years, or at any time if it has a concern. Since September 2024, Ofsted no longer awards an overall single-word grade for state-funded schools; from November 2025 schools are inspected against a new five-point grading scale set out in report cards. The judgements above relate to the inspection framework in place at the time of our 2023 inspection and remain valid until our next graded inspection.
