Admission Arrangements

We welcome applications from families who would like their child to join St Peter Chanel Catholic Primary School. As a Catholic school, we welcome children of all faiths and none.

Reception class — September start

Applications for a Reception place are made through the Local Authority where you live, not through the school. You can name up to six schools on your application — including St Peter Chanel — even if those schools are in a different borough.

If you live in Bexley

This includes families in Sidcup, Foots Cray, Bexleyheath, Welling, Erith, Belvedere and surrounding areas. Apply through the London Borough of Bexley's Primary Admissions service: Bexley Primary Admissions.

If you live outside Bexley

Apply through the council where you live. You can still name St Peter Chanel as one of your school preferences. The most common neighbouring authorities are:

• Greenwich: Royal Borough of Greenwich school admissions
• Bromley: London Borough of Bromley school admissions
• Kent: Kent County Council school admissions (Dartford, Sevenoaks and the rest of Kent)

In-year admissions (Reception and Years 1–6)

For families wanting to join us at any point during the school year — including moves into the area or changes of school — please apply directly to the school office.

We hold our own waiting list. If there are no places in your child's year group at the time you apply, we'll keep your details on file and contact you if a place becomes available. Where multiple children apply for the same place, our published over-subscription criteria will be followed.

Nursery & Pre-School

We have an on-site Nursery & Pre-School for children aged 2 to 5. Applications are made directly through the Pre-School, not through the Local Authority.

Come and visit us

The best way to get a feel for St Peter Chanel is to come and see for yourself. We hold Open Mornings each autumn, and personal tours with the Headteacher are available year-round by appointment.

Appeals
