Year 6 SATs Week and Pre-School Open Morning — Newsletter 8 May 2026

Next week brings Year 6 SATs — we are so proud of the progress they have made this year and cannot wait to celebrate with them. Plus details of our first Pre-School Open Morning and Mental Health Awareness Week.

This week at SPC

Our Celebration of the Word assembly this week reminded us that trusting others can be tricky at times. Just as the Disciples had to trust in Jesus, we are called to be trustworthy members of our community. We reflected on who we have our trust in and how we can help others to have trust in us. Having trust is similar to having faith and belief — we put our trust in God to support us on the ever-winding journey we call life.

Your thoughts and prayers are gratefully received for our Year 6s who have their SATs assessments next week. We are so proud of them and the progress they have made this year. We cannot wait to celebrate their achievement with them. A huge thank you to all of our SPC community who have had any hand in supporting Year 6 — as they say, it takes a village.

Year 3 Class Assembly

Year 3 guided us to reflect on how we could show solidarity at school, at home and in our wider community. Their role plays and singing were fantastic — well done Year 3!

We are delighted to be hosting our first Pre-School Open Morning on Saturday 16th May, 10am–12pm. Spaces can be booked by calling the school on 020 8302 6029. Please feel free to share with any fellow parents or carers of children aged 2–4 who may be interested.

Mental Health Awareness Week

Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and the theme this year is Take Action. Even small actions can help us feel hopeful and less powerless — and while our individual actions matter, when we come together we are even more powerful.
